Toddler Dishes
We’ve long used and loved the Lalo First Bites Starter Kit and their Little Cup since both are perfect for babies. And now they have a brand new larger size for bigger kids. Hooray!
I love the brand for their modern design, yes, but also because their products genuinely seem so thoughtfully designed. Which means they are easy for us parents to use, clean, and care for through many years and multiple kiddos (as needed!).
Lalo Big Bites Kit
The new toddler size includes FDA approved non-toxic, BPA free silicone that is durable, safe, and able to stand up to typical toddler wear and tear. The products feel like a real dish (they aren’t squishy like other silicone plates), but have the durability of non-toxic silicone.
The utensils are perfectly sized for little hands and are easy to hold and use—which is one of the best ways to help the kids be a little more independent at the table. Plus, every item is really easy to clean.
The Big Bites Starter Kit includes: 1 Plate, 1 Bowl, 1 Mealtime Cup + Set of Utensils
The Big Bites Full Kit includes: 1 Plate, 1 Bowl, 1 Mealtime Cup, Set of Utensils, Chopsticks + 1 Placemat
My kids are obsessed with the chopsticks!
Frequently Asked Questions
The tableware is perfect for toddlers about age 2 and up. We’ve been using them with all three of our kids, currently aged 3, 6, and 10.
Wipe clean with a kitchen sponge and drape over the drying rack to dry.
Starting with thicker mixtures, rather than runny soup, can help. So think of the consistency of oatmeal or risotto, or a small shape of pasta or rice.
Tips for Cleaning Silicone Dishes
To keep silicone kids plates and dishes clean, and to avoid them picking up any taste or scent of soap, be sure to use fragrance-free dish soap without essential oils. It’s also best to hand wash them, rather than put them into the dishwasher to further prevent this possibility.
To remove any lingering soap residue, you can sterilize the product like you would a baby bottle in boiling water or rub with a fresh slice of lemon.
