These finger sandwiches are perfect for kids because the flavors are simple, yet yummy, and so easy for parents to make. too.
This can be a fun option for party food, a birthday party, or just a tea party at home with you and the kids. I have six easy sandwich options to share, with tips on which breads are easiest for tea sandwiches and which teas for kids are safe and delicious.

The finger sandwich recipes here are all very straightforward—you might be able to make some of them using ingredients you already have on hand. Or, you can easily pick them up at the store. Of course, you do not need to make all of the flavor options, so pick and choose the ones that you and your kids might prefer.

To make these sandwiches for kids, you’ll need these ingredients:
- Soft white or wheat bread: I prefer to use soft sliced bread here, rather than a more rustic artisanal bread, since it is easier to cut with cookie cutters. And it is softer to bite into as a tea sandwich.
- Fillings: Choose from cream cheese, thinly sliced cucumber, hard-cooked egg, peanut butter and jelly, lemon curd, soft goat cheese, and more.
TIP: I cut out the bread with round cookie cutters to make a fun shape, but you can simply cut into squares or triangles and leave the crusts on.

Tea sandwiches are best served on the day they are made to ensure the bread is fresh and soft. You can make them up to 24 hours ahead, but wrap tightly with plastic wrap to ensure freshness and store in the fridge.

Place the bread onto a cutting board. Use a 3- to 4-inch round cookie cutter to cut circles from the bread. (If the bread is at all stale, warm for 5 seconds in the microwave.) Set aside the rounds in pairs of two for each sandwich.
Add a thin layer of the spread to the bread on one side of each pair of rounds.
Add a thin layer of the filling (such as the cucumber, raspberries, or egg, depending) on top. For the peanut butter and jelly, add the jelly to the second piece.
Sandwich the rounds of bread together, pressing slightly. Serve with tea of choice (we usually do a little honey in warm water or chamomile.)
